tournament at Beckenham RFC. With varying levels of experience the clubs were separated into two
tiers. This pitted the Swans against Aylesford, Beckenham 2’s and Bec Belles (who they played twice).
This new concept to ensure teams can continue to play rugby was embraced by all. On this day
however, the relative experience of the clubs did show at times, although the Black Swans showed a
great appetite for the game and a willingness to always compete no matter what the situation.
Throughout the 4 games played fun was always had and smiles were always on faces. Especially
during the scoring moments!!! Four tries were scored across the day, one in each game. Vicki
scored 2, Lola one and one for Ellie. From the sidelines it was a great spectacle to watch and it was
clear to see the girls had been coached well by Coach Connelly as great depth in attack was utilised
as well as commitment in defence (albeit in a touch game that at times was a little more than that).
Everyone within the team contributed well and the rolling subs were utilised at every opportunity to
keep the players fresh. On this day the Black swans were beaten in every game but each and
everyone one of them enjoyed themselves and showed great commitment for every minute they
were on the pitch.
